Abstract Submissions: Symposium on the Ecology, Conservation, and Research of Small Wild Cats
We invite researchers, practitioners, and students to submit abstracts for oral presentations or panel discussions related to small wild cat species, including but not limited to:
- Population ecology
- Habitat use and fragmentation
- Human-wildlife conflict
- Conservation policy, action plans, use and trade
- Technology and monitoring
- Community-based conservation
Submission Deadline: July 1st, 2025
Notification of Acceptance: August 15th, 2025

Small Cats Symposium – Submission Guidelines
We welcome abstract submissions for oral or poster presentations at the upcoming Small Cats Symposium, which will center on small wild cat species, with an emphasis on conservation and a particular attention to threatened species.
Submissions are encouraged from researchers, conservationists, wildlife professionals, and students. We especially invite contributions from early-career scientists, professionals working in underrepresented regions, and those engaged in interdisciplinary initiatives.
Abstract Requirements :
- Word limit: Maximum 300 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations).
- Language: English only.
- Format:
- Title: Clear and concise.
- Authors: Full names and institutional affiliations.
- Body: Include background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions.
- Avoid figures, tables, or references in the abstract.
Submission Process :
- Submit abstracts via Small Cat Symposium’s website.
- File format: .doc, .docx, or .pdf.
- Deadline for submission: 15th of August, midnight.
Evaluation Criteria :
- Relevance to small wild cat species
- Project implication in tangible conservation outcomes for small cat species
- Scientific quality and clarity
- Originality and significance
- Completeness within the word limit
Presentation Types :
- Oral Presentation Short: 10–15 minutes talk with Q&A.
- Oral Presentation Long : 20 – 25 minutes talk with Q&A.
- Poster Presentation: Printed or digital display with dedicated discussion time.
Please indicate your preferred presentation type, though final decisions will be made by the review committee.
Notification of Acceptance:
Authors will be notified by the 15th of September. Accepted presenters must confirm participation by 31st of September.
